HER-ITAGE | A Showcase Reimagining Heritage Through Contemporary Fashion
Lecia Showcase #2
Điềm Phùng Thị Art Center, 20.09 – 29.09.2025
“HER-ITAGE” is an unprecedented journey into the world of the bridal gown—where each creation is not only meant to be admired, but to be experienced as a passage into the depth of heritage. It is an experience that cannot be digitized: a phone screen cannot fully convey the raw tactility of fabric, the shimmer of every thread, or the sculptural “cuts” within a wedding dress.

Within the singular setting of the Điềm Phùng Thị Art Center, bridal couture is, for the first time, “deconstructed” to reveal what lies beneath its many layers: from the original silhouette and materials to the mastery of hand-embroidered details. Visitors are invited to observe hand-embroidery techniques up close, discover motifs reinterpreted through a contemporary lens, and listen to the creative stories behind each work.

At the heart of this journey is the creative cycle of “Carve – Inlay – Cut”—a distinctive sculptural philosophy that reinterprets the language of “reconstruction.” The process begins with “Carve”: removing the excess, incising the surface to reveal the essence beneath. Then comes “Inlay,” filling those newly opened spaces with fresh elements. Finally, the layers of “Cut” do more than create depth; they reveal the passage of time, where each incision opens another stratum of stories, colours, and materials. Through this process, heritage is no longer a still memory, but a living material for the future.

More than a single work, “HER-ITAGE” is a bridge—where the aesthetic refinement of couture meets the quiet stories of embroidery artisans. It reflects how Lecia connects with art, heritage, and community, allowing viewers to understand the devotion behind each creation while inspiring future generations of creatives to see the past as an inexhaustible source of inspiration.
