Homecraft Together
CREATING HOME-BASED CRAFT WORK FOR WOMEN PAST WORKING AGE
Initiator & sponsor of this community project
‘Homecraft Together’ is a LECIA initiative connecting women past working age
with craft work they can do at home.
Through fabric flower making, embroidery, embellishment and finishing with fabric left over
from production, participants can earn extra income on a flexible schedule,
while helping create contemporary handcrafted products.
Each finished piece preserves craft skills, brings joy to everyday life
and carries forward the value of skilled hands.

The challenge

Changes in urban life
THE AGE OF TECHNOLOGY
Technology brings new conveniences, yet also deepens our longing for genuine connections and authentic values.
In this context, craft embodies patience, memory and the human touch—values no machine or automation can replace.
Familiar livelihoods are disappearing
As urban life changes and street vending faces growing restrictions, familiar sources of income are disappearing, especially for women past working age.
Alongside lost income comes the gradual loss of a familiar rhythm of life, where work once brought conversations and a sense of community.
Craft traditions are fading
Without opportunities to put them to use and create value, many traditional craft skills risk fading away.
Preserving craft means more than keeping techniques alive; it also protects Vietnamese cultural values and spiritual life.

HOMECRAFT TOGETHER / CRAFTING AT HOME
FROM FABRIC SCRAPS TO HANDMADE FLOWERS
EVERY FLOWER, A DISTINCTIVE TOUCH AND A MOMENT OF JOY
A model for home-based craft work for women past working age
Participants shape and finish fabric left over from production into handmade floral details for LECIA clothing and accessories.
Each flower is more than a handmade detail: it embodies time, care and the joy of work. It is how LECIA brings craft into
contemporary design, connecting beauty with people and communities.

Our vision
The ultimate goal is not how many beautiful dresses we make, but how many jobs we create in craft.
“
- Founder / Designer Nguyễn Quỳnh Anh -
Designer Nguyễn Quỳnh Anh built LECIA from a love of simple, everyday values and traditional craft villages.
Working with artisans regarded as the last generation of Vietnamese embroiderers, she found inspiration and recognized the risk of losing a treasured craft tradition.
Her concern for cultural traditions at risk became the drive behind LECIA’s long-term journey: to celebrate and carry craft forward through a new ecosystem of experiences, creating more spaces for craft to flourish and more jobs within it.
